PHCCIMA PRESIDENT LEADS GERMAN BUSINESS DELEGATION, EXCO MEMBERS TO RSGH

In his renewed drive to woe more investors into Rivers State, the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM , JP, FNIM, DSSRS led German Business Delegation and other Exco members on a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS last Friday.

In their separate statements of purpose the leader German Business Delegation, Mr. Sebastian Glaser and Vice Consul-General of Germany to Nigeria, Jochen Schindelarz said they were at the Rivers State Government House Port Harcourt to discuss investment opportunities and present their ideas on business expansion in line with their earlier request for collaborative and partnership relationships with businesses in Port Harcourt.

They explained that the delegation were representatives of different companies in Germany who are willing to invest in Rivers State, Nigeria, hence their courtesy visit to the Governor to create a robust business collaboration in areas of export and import of good and services, food processing, Agriculture among others, adding that since their arrival a day before they have seen some untapped business potentials lying waste in the State.

Responding, the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS thanked the German Business Delegation for the choice of Rivers State as one of the states found worthy to visit in their schedules.

The Governor noted that for any growing economy like Rivers State, there was need to welcome foreign partners to come in with their investments, adding that the state is desirous of genuine private investors and urged them to be steadfast in their drive to expand their business horizon to the state, not to stop at enquiries but make concrete their plans of bringing their investments into Rivers State as he will be glad to receive them again and assured them of the safety of their investments in the state.

Governor Fubara further added that they should not hesitate to contact the state government through the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce in case of any challenges and directed the Secretary to Rivers State Government and the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Commerce and Industry to work with the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce to produce an updated investors guide for the state.

The German business delegation thereafter took a facility tour to Vintage Farms and Products Ltd, Elele, in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State as they concluded their business visit to the state and have since returned back to Lagos
