The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS has granted audience to the Acting Coordinator of the National Productivity Centre, Rivers State Centre, Mrs. Okoronkwo Chinonyerem.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, the PHCCIMA President congratulated Mrs. Okoronkwo Chinonyerem on her emergence as the acting Coordinator of the Agency and attributed it to hard work and dedication.
The President maintained that the Chamber will do everything within it’s reach to support the policies and programmes of the Centre, adding that both Organizations had established an age long relationship just as he directed the Director General of PHCCIMA to invite the Productivity Centre to the forthcoming PHCCIMA AGM for a presentation.
He maintained that the Productivity Centre is one organization that is cherished due to their objectivity in the selection process of persons to be conferred with Honorary Awards but frowned at the 2023 selection process where qualified members of the Chamber applied and none was called for the award and expressed the hope that the selection process will remain transparent as usual in 2024.
Earlier in her speech, the Acting Coordinator of National Productivity Centre, Port Harcourt, Mrs. Okoronkwo Chinonyerem said she was at the Chamber on a familiarization visit and to inform the President and Chamber members of the change in leadership at the Port Harcourt Centre.
Mrs. Okoronkwo maintained that apart from confirment of Honorary Awards, the Agency is also into training and enlightenment/awareness campaign on productivity and quality improvement.
She requested for an opportunity of large gathering of PHCCIMA members to showcase their services.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of souvenirs to the State Ag. Coordinator of the National Productivity Centre. Other Officers present at the courtesy visit were the Chamber Publicity Secretary, Pastor Uche Onochie, the Director General, Mr. Erasmus Chukunda, the Deputy Director General, Mr. Philip Obiandu, Media Officer from Radio Rivers, Mr. Francis Golden and the Press Secretary, Mr. Joseph Asomeji
