PHCCIMA PRESIDENT GIVES BUSINESS ORIENTATION TO JCI MEMBERS

The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM , JP, FNIM, DSSRS has encouraged Members of Junior Chamber International, Rivers State University Chapter not to take the practical aspect of their studies for granted.
  The Chamber President gave the encouragement when the leadership of Rivers State University Chapter of JCI paid him a courtesy visit at the Chamber Secretariat in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, saying that PHCCIMA and other professional organizations could play mentorship roles and give guidance on practical aspects of entrepreneurship to JCI members if they can come as a formidable organization, positing that practical mentorship is different from the theoretical knowledge in the classroom.
  The President maintained that if they had come earlier as a group the Chamber would have created an avenue for them to participate in the ongoing Rivers State Government and Bank of Industry loan facility for traders and entrepreneurs and thanked them for the initiative just as he promised to promote their future activities.
  Earlier in his speech, the President of Junior Chamber International, Rivers State University Chapter, Jockiel Hopeson Ahamefula explained that JCI is a membership driven global network of dedicated and enterprising young leaders within the age limit of 18-40 active in more than 5000 locations across nearly 115 countries with the aim of providing development opportunities that give members the practical experience to become Global Communicators, Entrepreneurs, Change Makers and Networkers.
  He used the opportunity to invite the President and Members to attend their planned event with the Theme ” Leadership in A Fast Paced World: Embracing Change and Innovation” which will be holding at the Rivers State University Law Auditorium on 5th day of June, 2024.
   The high point of the event was the presentation of souvenirs to the JCI President. The Chamber Treasurer, Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda, Director General, Mr. Erasmus Chukunda and the Deputy Director General joined the President receive the visitors.
