PHCCIMA PRESIDENT ASSURES NANTS EXCO CLOSER COLLABORATION FOR BENEFITS OF MEMBERS

The President of Port Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS has assured Members of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) South-South zone of closer collaborations with PHCCIMA. The Chamber President who expressed gladness for the courtesy call, gave the assurance to the Market Traders when the South-South zonal Coordinator of NANTS Mrs.Gloria Akintoye  and her team of newly elected officers paid him a courtesy call in his office at the Chamber Secretariat in Port Harcourt. He asserted that both members of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) and the PHCCIMA could benefit from each other when they harness vast opportunities accruable from both organizations. The Chamber President also informed his august visitors about the inherent benefits of participating in the RSG/PHCCIMA MSMEs and SMEs Database Registration programme, and extended invitation to the Market Traders to participate in the 2023 Port Harcourt International Trade Fair holding from 6th to 20th December, 2023 at the Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt.

Earlier in her presentation on the purpose of their visit, the South-South zonal Coordinator of the National Association of Nigerian Traders, Mrs. Gloria Akintoye had introduced NANTS as a national organization formed since 1987 as the mouthpiece of the Nigerian Traders with aim of promoting the interest and welfare of Nigerian Market Traders, and called for close collaboration with PHCCIMA being the umbrella body of all the business community in the state. She used the opportunity to introduce the newly elected Exco Members of NANTS in Rivers State, and invited the Chamber President to grace the occasion of the inauguration of their State chapter on Saturday 28th October, 2023 in Port Harcourt. She was accompanied by the Rivers State Coordinator Mrs. Ogonda Ada Iwedi, State Secretary Mrs. Okey-Dike Onyedikachi and State PRO Mr. Sunday Oragin.

In his closing remark and vote of thanks, the 2nd Deputy President, Hon. Prince Charles Beke, NPOM, JP posited that NANTS is an organization to partner with considering their various trading activities, and thanked them for the courtesy call at a time when the Chamber is preparing for the forthcoming Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and wished that all members of the association will participate as he reassured them of all necessary assistance to become a member of the Chamber.

Other distinguished Chamber Executives present were, former NVP of NACCIMA, Past President and HLVP of PHCCIMA Elder Dr. Hyke Ochia, the Treasurer Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda, FCAI, Elected Council member Chief Amb. Emeka Ezekwe, the Director General Mr. Erasmus Chukunda and the ICT Officer Mr. Felix Kalu Ude as shown in the picture gallery above.
