After a fruitful high level interactive business meeting with Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Exco and members at the corporate office of PHCCIMA, the Bangladesh High Commissioner, H.E Mansudur Rahman and his delegation were treated to a special farewell dinner reception hosted by PHCCIMA member company, Ken – Next Ventures Nigeria Limited.
It was a gathering of critical stakeholders and officials of the business community in Rivers state, amongst them the Director General, Rives State Investment Promotion Agency Dr Chamberlain Peterside who expressed government’s preparedness to partner with the private sector to stimulate economic growth for Rivers state.
PHCCIMA President, Dr Chinyere Nwoga in her remark further reiterated the need for the Bangladesh High Commission to create a Desk for members of PHCCIMA and the organized Private sector in the Bangladesh High Commission. This according to her will facilitate easy communication and processes for business linkages for PHCCIMA members and the Rivers sate business community. She noted that the relationship between the Bangladesh High Commission and PHCCIMA should be symbiotic in a such a way that both parties will have a win-win situation.
In his remark, the Bangladesh High Commissioner, H>E Mansudur Rahman assured the group that the visit will not just be a one-off visit but rather one that will set the tone for bigger things including a by-weekly interaction between the High Commission and members of Port Harcourt chamber of commerce to open new channels of business and linkages with expected results where trade and commerce will increase..
Also in the attendance were PHCCIMA past Presidents, Engr Vincent Furo, and Dr Engr. Emeka Unachukun who both urged that proactive measures must be taken to follow this visit up.
Others present at The Dinner reception were, PHCCIMA 1st Deputy President, Chief Engr. Isaac Wonwu, Financial Secretary Surv. Emmanuel Ogbonda, The Head of Trade/ Foreign Missions, Mrs Tari Membere, WCCIMA Deputy Coordinator, Ms Pat Ihunze, elected council member, Joseph Habib Sule, Chf Emeka Ezenekwe and Mr. Benson Ogbonna.
