PHCCIMA AGRICULTURE AND AGRO-ALLIED SERVICES TRADE GROUP PROMOTES WEALTH AND PROSPERITY

The Agriculture and Agro-Allied Services Trade Group of PHCCIMA is encouraging the younger generations to participate in agriculture as a sure way to wealth and prosperity. In a one-day sensitization forum organized by the Trade Group tagged “Agriculture: A sure Way to Wealth and Prosperity” at the Conference Hall of the Chamber on Thursday 16th June, 2022 witnessed large turnout of students from Hallel College, Ignatius Ajuru University, farmers from different local government areas and host of others who benefited from the presentations and lectures on various  topics on agriculture and its value chain.

The Chairman Mrs. Vivian  Segun-John and members of  the Trade Group exhibited different products  from their farms. Presenters from the Ministry of Agriculture, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Bank of Agriculture and the Nigeria Export Promotion Council were there to provide vital information on Agriculture financing, quality control and export.

PHCCIMA President Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, JP, FNIM, NIPOM in his opening address welcomed the participants to the forum and advised them to be ready to give their all if they want to go into agriculture, the President also informed the participants that farming is a lucrative venture, if the farmer is ready to build his capacity in terms of attending courses and seminars pertaining to agriculture, and that farming requires consistency and patient. The various organizations that presented their papers showcasing worth of Agriculture include Director of Ministry of Agriculture Mr Sunday Agada, Dr. Richardson Okechukwu of International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Bank of Agriculture and Nigeria Export Promotion Council.  The forum had a session for questions and answer, networking session. Other dignitaries’ present at the forum are PHCCIMA Treasurer and the Exco Supervisor of the Agriculture and Allied Trade Group Surv. Emmanuel Ogbonda , the Chairman of Naworg Chief Dr. Patricia w. Ogbonnaya, the Chairman of SMES and NGO Trade Group Mrs. Edughom Hanson, Students of Hallel College , Ignatius Ajuru University and Director of Entrepreneurship Dr. Spencer, some group of farmers from different local government areas and a host of others as shown in the photo gallery above.
