PHCCIMA: DR CHINYERE NWOGA EMPHASIZES THE NEED FOR GOVT TO HARNESS POTENTIALS IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY…DECLARES 1ST PH JUNGLE PARTY EVENT OPEN

Dr Chinyere Nwoga, the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce has emphasized the need for Rivers State Government to harness potentials of the state’s tourism industry to boost investment and stimulate economic growth.

Dr Nwoga said this at a colourful tourism promotional event to mark first Port Harcourt jungle party
organized by the Beach Harcourt Club in partnership with PHCCIMA and other stakeholders at the Port Harcourt zoo.

She mentioned that the tourism industry could be a major foreign earner that can tackle unemployment and boost revenue if properly harnessed.

While urging business enthusiasts to join membership PHCCIMA as the voice of the organized private sector, she appreciated the efforts of Beach Harcourt club for showcasing the stunning beaches of Rivers State, capturing the immense potential
of our coastal areas to attract investment. “This to us is a noble objective hence we have thrown our support in partnership to support them actualize this invaluable objective.

The convener of the event and President of the Beach Harcourt Club, Mr Walter Aberepikima in his welcome speech expressed gratitude to the PHCCIMA entourage and others, saying part of his club’s goal is to showcase the unsung sights and sounds of Rivers state, with focus on impacting the people.

He also revealed how blessed the state is naturally, explaining that the tourism industry needs to get the attention it deserves from the state government so that things can be put in their right perspective for investors to have the confidence to invest.
“Our mission is to draw attention to the magnificent beaches around Rivers State for Government & Investors to recognize the opportunities that lay within,” he said, calling for support from all and sundry.
The highlight of the event was the cutting of tape to officially declare the event open by the PHCCIMA President, arching section among others. Two past Presidents, Chief Nabil Saleh and Dr. Emeka Unachukwu were part of the PHCCIMA entourage, including Head of PHCCIMA’s Foreign Mission, Mrs Tari Membere, Chairperson of Tourism and Hospitality Trade Group, Mrs Ayo Sokari and Vice chairman, Pst Oluwatoyin Alabi.
