The Deputy General Manager (SME- South 1) of the Bank of Industry, Mrs. Uche Nwuka has assured the President and members of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) of her Banks readiness to break all the hurdles that had mitigated against growth and expansion of industries in the Rivers State, and promised to work in synergy with Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) in achieving the Bank’s goal. She made this assertion when she paid an unscheduled visit to the President and the Chamber late Friday 25th August, 2023 at the Chamber Secretariat in Port Harcourt.
PHCCIMA President, Eze, SirĀ Mike Elechi, NPOM, DSSRS, FNIM, JP while welcoming his august visitors thanked her and the BOI team for identifying with the Chamber and passionately requested the BOI DGM to consider revitalising ailing industries and expanding existing businesses in the State positing that the Chamber houses reputed businesses who are qualified to access their funds but regretted that over the years member Companies have not received any funding from the Bank of Industry a situation he said have resulted to shutting down of ailing industries in the State, and requested her to work with PHCCIMA to reverse that negative trend. He also appealed to the BOI DGM to expand the number of member Companies to be considered in their current funding programme.
