Take good advantage of SMEs & NGOs Conference, PHCCIMA President urges Exhibitors

The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry,Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, JP, FNIM, NPOM has urged Exhibitors to take good advantage of SMEs & NGOs Trade Group Business Conference offered to them.

The President gave the advice while declaring open the SMEs and NGOs business conference at the on going Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and exhibitions holding at the Yakubu Gowon stadium, Elekahia, Port Harcourt, saying that the Trade Fair Organising Committee thought it wise to organize the SMEs conference so as the Exhibitors will also have opportunity to learn and grow their Businesses.

The President of PHCCIMA used China as good example of a country that encourages SMEs growth, adding that if all the chamber members took part in the Exhibition of their various companies’ Products and Services, it will motivate others to join the chamber, and noted that money is not the most important thing in business but the business idea, hence the setting aside SMEs/ NGOs Trade Group day to teach the Exhibitors on how fast to grow their Businesses.

In her Presentation, the Chairman of SMEs and NGOs trade group, Mrs. Edughom Hanson, explained that the SMEs Conference was part of the activities of the Port Harcourt International Trade Fair to teach Exhibitors on the ease of doing business, she charged them to leverage on the opportunity which is different from the Exhibitor’s target of profit maximization.

In a lecture delivered by officials of Zenith Bank Plc, titled “SMEs grow my business package”, Exhibitors and other participants were urged to open an SMEs account to monitor the flow of their various businesses, adding that such account will help them be financially prudent just as he confirmed that Zenith Bank Plc also gives interest free loan.

There were question and answers session where participants were given insight on how to do business with the Zenith Bank PLC. Other Chamber officers and members who participated in the Conference were the Chamber Treasurer, Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda, Publicity Secretary, Pastor Uche Onochie, Elected Council member, Chief Ernest Elochukwu, Vice Chairman of SMEs and NGOs Trade Group, Mr. Jack Daboikiabo, other valued members, Zenith Bank officers, the Director General, Mr. Erasmus Chukunda, and the exihibitors.
