PHCCIMA TASKS PORTS SERVICE PROVIDERS ON E-REGULATORY PROCESS PORTAL, COMMENDS NIGERIAN SHIPPERS COUNCIL

PHCCIMA President Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS has called on Ports Service Providers and Stakeholders to adhere strictly to the newly introduced E-Regulatory Process Portal for all Nigerian Ports, and advised them to urgently integrate the innovative process portal to their operating procedures to achieve the desired accuracy, speed and and efficiency in the Maritime and Shipping sector of the economy. The Chamber President gave the charge in a goodwill message delivered on his behalf by the Director General, Mr. Erasmus Chukunda at the one day Practical Demonstration of the E-Regulatory Process Portal (ERPP) held by the Nigerian Shippers Council, Port Harcourt Office on Thursday 19th October, 2023 in Port Harcourt. The ERPP is a platform developed by Nigerian Shippers Council for the filling-in of operational tariffs, rates and changes as well as update on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from Service Providers in the Ports.

The President who used the opportunity judiciously to canvass for membership of the Chamber also commended the Executive Director and Management of the Nigerian Shippers Council for the organization’s evolution over the years to a strong regulatory body and assured them of the continuous support of PHCCIMA. The Regional Coordinator, South-South region Mr. Glory O. who also is the Chairman of the Chamber Shipping, Logistics and Transport Trade Group, while presenting the Executive Director’s welcome address, explained that the ERPP is the approved guidelines for Service Providers, and urged them to raise their level of compliance to the guidelines to achieve higher standard in their operating procedures.
