The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS led other Executive members of the Chamber to the opening ceremony of Shell Development Development Company (SPDC) Cooperatives Trade Fair.
The COOPEAST EXPO which is an annual event is an avenue for traders from far and near bringing in their different varieties of products and services to showcase to buyers and investors for patronage, it is also an opportunity to make new connections.
Giving insight on behalf of the Chamber President on the forth coming 17th edition of Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and Exhibition, the Director General of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Mr. Erasmus Chukunda informed the audience that the Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and Exhibition will hold from 6th to 20th December, 2023 at the Isaac Adaka Boro Park, Mile 1 fly over, in Port Harcourt adding that there will be both foreign and local exhibitors, and extended invitation to participate in the trade fair to all the vendors.
The DG further reviewed that in a bit to encourage traders across the state grow their business the Rivers State government through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Collaboration with the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has commenced registration and production of a database of SMEs & MSMEs operating in the State and urged business owners and the exhibitors whose businesses are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission to use the window enabled by this opportunity which according to him, is part of the state government’s plans to assist businesses with soft loan and grants, and that the registration exercise is free of any charges. Dignitaries at the opening ceremony included Mr. Igo Weli representing the SPDC Management, Dr. Uche Akpu the Chairman of the Staff Cooperative Society Ltd, the Coop. General Secretary Mr.Tamunoemi Taylor-Harry and the Vendors. The Chamber President, Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS was accompanied to the ceremony by the 2nd Deputy President, Hon, Prince Charles Beke, NPOM, JP, Treasurer Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda, FCAI, Elected Council member and Chairman Trade Missions Desk, Amb. Mrs. Florence Nwosibe, Chairman of Agriculture and Agro-Allied Services Trade Group, Mrs. Vivian Segun-John, the Director General Mr. Erasmus Chukunda, the Business Development Officer, Mr. Godfirst Belema Anaka and the Press Secretary, Mr. Joseph Asomeji.
