…AS PHCCIMA BOSS COMMENDS WCCIMA’S IMPRESSIVE OUTING – HARPS ON WOMEN SUPPORTING WOMEN
As part of efforts to celebrate International Women’s Day, and to appreciate WCCIMA, the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce women’s wing for an impressive outing and good mobilization during the recently concluded WCCIMA program tagged ‘ Accelerate Action -: Identify and Conquer’, the National Vice President of NACCIMA and Past President Ogoni Chamber of Commerce, Chief Adoage Norteh hosted WCCIMA women to a luncheon at the prestigious Farah Lounge in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the event President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture PHCCIMA and vice President Ex officio NACCIMA DR. CHINYERE NWOGA expressed gratitude to the national vice President of NACCIMA, Chief Adoage Norteh for celebrating and encouraging women, she said this is another testament that there are men that support women.
She commended the leadership and members of the WCCIMA group led by Her Majesty, Dr Patricia Ogbonaya for their excellent performance at the event, adding that they displayed commitment and were goal-driven from planning to finish. She described them as good examples of the limitless potential of womanhood.
Dr. Nwoga noted that the gathering was a unique event that had a place in history, to witness for the first time women of the Chamber hosted to merry and have lunch with their spouses in attendance.
There were conversations during the lunch that were centered on celebrating International Women’s Month,
According to the PHCCIMA President, in addition to other purposes, this event was to provide a serene atmosphere for women to get to know themselves better, know the business they do, and increase member-to-member patronage. She said this gathering provides an opportunity for chamber women to meet other women from other Chambers in Rivers State and for spouses to meet and know female members who might have to contact their husbands once in a while for Chamber matters and finally to encourage women supporting women.
She assured the women that there will be more outings like this in the future including creating mentoring opportunities for younger Chamber women.
Corroborating the excellent deeds of the women, the host of the luncheon, Chief Adoage Norteh extolled the virtues of women, particularly pointing out that the WCCIMA women were exemplary in both their mobilization and organization during their Accelerate Action event and so deserve to be celebrated as a mark of encouragement, urging them in the process to maintain the tempo. Chf Adoage Norteh offered to handle tax matters for any women who might require such services, indicating he would do so only through the PHCCIMA
