PHCCIMA PRESIDENT ADVOCATES FOR A DIVERSIFIED ECONOMY

The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry  Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS has called for diversification of the economy as means of survival in a depressed nation.

He made the clarion call at the annual Business Fair and Symposium organized by the full Gospel Business Mens’ Fellowship International – Nigeria, South-South 4 District, Garden City Eminent Chapter held at the banquet hall of Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt.

The PHCCIMA Boss who gave the Keynote Address at the event highlighted the importance of fostering sustainability, entrance into new market, partnerships with similar businesses, embracing e-commerce and technology, adding that there’s need for manufacturing industries to reduce, re-use and recycle spare parts.

Eze Elechi who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Vintage Farms and Products Ltd who’s topic was “Sustaining Business in a Depressed Economy” further encouraged business owners struggling to avail themselves the opportunity offered by Rivers State government in partnership with the Bank of Industry to access low interest loans to sustain their businesses.

He enjoined all to look up to God’s Kingdom for overall turnaround and escape root for economic survival.

During the pannel discussion, Dr. Tina Njoku-Opara, ENGR. Nnamdi Ezepue and Arc. Uche Kalu who are notable entrepreneurs in the state encouraged business owners across board to have strategic plans on how to sustain their businesses.

They called for innovations,  creativity and holding on to God, adding that while the economy goes into depression, a lot of people make more money, hence the need for people to discard doll moments, step out of the box, saying that its no longer  time to stay at a place and expect miracles.

The annual Business Fair and Symposium organized by full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International -Nigeria South South South 4 District Garden City Eminent Chapter also had a presentation on “Strategies to Thrive in a Trying Time” presented by the Main Testifier of the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Catering Services Company Ltd, owner of The Promise Fast Food Restaurant, and the Chamber Exco Supervisor for Hospitality and  Tourism Trade Group, Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi. In his own exposition, he asserted that, to thrive in trying times,  you need God as an anchor for stability, an anchor you can trust for divine revelations and partner with the Holy Spirit. And advised business men on what to do as follows; Don’t take a step without the Holy Spirit, Innovation and Creativity is the key. Take your business digitally, cut down on your expenses, never lose money, constantly review your contract terms, make every Kobo count, keep selling, keep going, don’t die and stay strong.      The Garden City Eminent Chapter President of the Full Gospel Business Mens’ Fellowship and the Managing Director of Optimum Resources Management Ltd, a distinguished member of PHCCIMA, Dr. Anthony Chovwen moderated the various sessions of the event well attended by members of the Fellowship, Chamber members and leaders of various business organizations. Participants later toured round the exhibition stands to bring the 2024 annual Business Fair and Symposium to a Close.
