The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) in collaboration with the Indonesia Trade Promotion Council has concluded plan to organize two major events, International Investment Forum and International Handicraft Exhibition in PortHarcourt.
The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, DSSRS, FNIM, JP made the disclosure during his welcome address at the Indonesia Business Forum held at Sweet Spirit Hotel Danang Stadium Road in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital on Wednesday.
The PHCCIMA Boss who was represented by the 2nd Deputy President of the Chamber, Hon. Prince Charles Beke, NPOM, JP x-rayed the aim of the business forum “the aim of this Business forum is to provide more business opportunities to our Chamber members and the good people of Rivers State with the view of attracting more Businesses to the state and to expand and promote commercial activities and investments in the state. To achieve these, PHCCIMA and the Indonesia Trade Promotion Council in Nigeria have agreed to make this event an annual event in PortHarcourt, we have also agreed to co-host an International Investment forum and International Handicraft Exhibitions in Port Harcourt from next year”.
He maintained that his Indonesia partners had also agreed to participate in the forth coming Port Harcourt International trade fair and exhibition scheduled to hold from the 6th to 20th December 2023, just as he assured his foreign counterpart to lead a business delegation on a trade mission to the 38th Trade Expo Indonesia in ICE-BSD City of Indonesia.
Elechi who is the Managing Director of Vintage Farms and Products Ltd used the medium to thank the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS for creating an enabling environment for business activities to thrive through the massive infrastructural development which has enhanced SMEs growth and development, hence the need for participants to make good use of the opportunity offered through the business forum to expand their Businesses.
Earlier in his speech, the Director of Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre, (ITPC) Mr Hendro Jonathan expressed satisfaction on the massive turnout of participants and exhibitors, the Indonesia Business operators and the Indonesia Embassy and thanked PHCCIMA for making the 2nd edition of the forum a huge success.
He explained that this was the second year his organization is partnering with PHCCIMA to hold such event, adding that in no distance time they will be unfolding series of International business activities which will be held in Port Harcourt.
Declaring the event open, the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Lawson Ikuru thanked the Indonesia Envoy for the choice of Port Harcourt to host the business forum which according to him has promoted the state in no small measure.
Mr. Ikuru also expressed joy on the series of progmme organized by the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) as the leader of the Organised Private Sector in the State, even as he use the medium to invite the foreign exhibitors and all the participants to participate during the 2023 International trade fair and exhibition which will hold between the 6th – 20th December 2023 in PortHarcourt. The climax of the Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre business forum was visit to the various exhibition stands.
