The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir, Mike Elechi, JP FNIM, NPOM, has commended the Chairman of Gokana local government Council, Hon. Confidence Dekor and his team for showcasing the cultural heritage of their LGA.
The Chamber President made the commendation as a Guest during a special presentation by the Gokana local government Council at the ongoing Port Harcourt International Trade Fair and exhibitions, saying that they have demonstrated to the world that they are rich in Agriculture, and recall that during the 2019 trade fair, Gokana LGA took second among other LGAs.
Eze, Sir Mike Elechi who is the Chairman of Rivers State Productivity Committee explained that the idea of local government Councils’ participation was to showcase their various cultural heritage, products and services to the international communities, positing that the trade fair also afforded the Exhibitors and participants the opportunity of learning how to grow their Businesses through the various seminars put together by the Chamber of Commerce.
He used the medium to call on other local government Councils yet to take their stand to do so, saying that the essence of the trade fair was to showcase the good work of Rivers State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS POS Africa.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of Gokana local government Council, Hon. Confidence Dekor said they were at the Port Harcourt International Trade Fair to Exhibit their home made products.
The Chairman maintained that his local government is richly blessed in Agriculture but regretted that lack of good roads network was the reason they didn’t showcase all their products and commended the idea of the trade fair which gave them the opportunity to present their products to the outside world.
In his vote of thanks, the Head of local government administration in Gokana Council, Mr. Alagbo Ihunwo thanked Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) for extending invitation to the LGA to showcase their products and expressed satisfaction with the exercise.
The products Exhibited by the Gokana Council included, Yam, pepper, red oil, garri, cucumber, fish, plantain, banana, etc.
