PHCCIMA HOLDS HER MEMBERS GENERAL FORUM, INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS, ANNOUNCES ELECTION TIMETABLE

The Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry,  Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) has ended her September members general forum with induction of new members, Keynote presentations and announcement of the commencement of transition process for the incoming administration.

In his  opening remarks, the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir, Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS, who spoke on the significance of the September members general forum, hinted that the September Members’ General Forum may be the last general forum in the lifespan of his administration having outlined activities to commence the transition to a new administration. He mentioned that the 2024 AGM election timetable approved by the Chamber Exco starts with the collection of nomination forms by interested aspirants to the various elective positions in September, Screening and clearance of qualified aspirants in October, campaigns by cleared candidates commences immediately after their clearance in October and ends before the election in November, 2024 and final handover ceremony.

He commended members for their tremendous support since the inception of his administration and presented to the entire house a hard copy of the architectural and engineering drawings, designs and prototype of the Chamber permanent Secretariat and Trade Fair Complex with the perimeter fence at the permanent site in the Greater Port Harcourt New City area.

The PHCCIMA Boss who also expressed satisfaction on the journey so far after the presentation of key activities and achievements of his administration in 2024 by the Director General, pledged his continuous engagement with the Rivers State government and other partners to ensure the physical presence of the Chamber at the permanent site before the end of his administration..

In his response, Engr. Dr. Vincent Furo, KSC commended Eze Elechi on his milestone achievements within the record time, adding that his administration has given the Chamber a facelift with unbeatable records.

There were 4 Keynote presentations lined up for the benefit of members; “Property acquisition at the Greater TAF City Port Harcourt”, “SIM Samsung Nigeria Limited product sales awareness”. “Positioning your Business for competitive advantage through the owner Manager program, by Garden City premier Business school, and Afridu Economic & investment summit opportunities for Nigerian Entrepreneurs” by the African Diaspora Community. The African Diaspora Community led by Barr. Clara Endive had earlier paid the Chamber President a courtesy visit in his office.

The event which was well attended was climaxed with the presentation of souvenirs to the Keynote Speakers, induction of new members and issuance of membership Certificates to the newly inducted members. Among distinguished members and organizations that attended the Chamber September Members General Forum the 2nd Deputy President, Chief Isaac Wonwu, Treasurer, Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda, FCAI, Financial Secretary, Sir Dan Harrison, the Representative of the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Past President, Engr. Dr. Vincent Furo. KSC, Past President, Dr. Engr. Emeka Unachukwu, FSM, Elected Council Members, Amb. Mrs. Florence Igbeaku Nwosibe, and Chief Amb. Emeka Ezekwe, the Chairman of Hospitality and Tourism Trade Group, Chief, Engr. Dr. I. O. Ezenekwe, Chairman of Power and Energy Trade Group, Engr. Tony Nwogbo, Heads of partnering Federal Agencies including NAFDAC, NEPC, NRMRDC, NPC, Technology Incubation Centre, the Chamber Director General, Mr. Erasmus Chukunda and Deputy Director General, Mr. Philip Obiandu as shown in the pictures gallery above.
