The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Cascade Controls Limited, Chief Engr. Isaac Wonwu has been elected as the 2nd Deputy President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA).
He was elected during the 2024 PHCCIMA Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on Tuesday 16th July 2024 at the Chamber Secretariat in Port Harcourt following the vacancy created as a result of the resignation of Hon. Prince Charles E. Osimini-Beke who was recently appointed into the Rivers State Executive Council as Commissioner for Local Government Affairs.
The election into the office of the 2nd Deputy President of PHCCIMA which was envisaged to be a keen contest became an easy ride when the main opponent of Chief Engr. Wonwu, the Managing Director/CEO of InterLink Technologies and Management Systems Ltd and Palm Nectar Premium Bottled Palm Wine, a formal Treasurer of PHCCIMA and the current Chairman Economic & Commercial Services Trade Group, Dr. Maraizu Uche stepped down.
In his post-Election speech, the new 2nd Deputy President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Chief Engr. Isaac Wonwu thanked the PHCCIMA President, Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS, his Exco and the entire PHCCIMA members present at the EGM for finding him worthy to serve.
While dedicating his certificate of return to his supposed opponent, Dr. Maraizu Uche who stepped down for him, called for cooperation and collective responsibilities among PHCCIMA family to achieve their dreams of erecting a befitting edifice at the PHCCIMA trade Fair Permanent site at Omuoda, Aluu, in the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Area which was recently inaugurated by His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
Earlier in his Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) address, the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM , JP, FNIM, DSSRS who thanked the financial members of the Chamber who attended and participated in the meeting, emphasized on the significance of the EGM particularly the election into the vacant position of the 2nd Deputy President which was as a result of resignation of the former occupant who has been elevated by the Rivers Government.
The 2024 EGM which also featured keynote presentation on business names Registration, sensitization on informal sector operators in Rivers State, annual returns and other key roles of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) was delivered by the Nodal Head of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Port Harcourt Office, Mr. Emmanuel Inyang, and the second presentation which featured the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme was delivered by the Acting Executive Secretary, RIVCHPP, Dr. Mrs. Vetty Agala.
There were also induction of new members into the membership of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), as the EGM was well attended by distinguished members of the Chamber, Executives, Past Presidents and the Representative of the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Commerce and Industry as shown in the above pictures gallery.
