The Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association, PortHarcourt Branch, Barr. Cordelia Eke has said that the PortHarcourt Branch of Nigeria Barr Association under her watch is willing to collaborate with the PortHarcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture PHCCIMA on legal business frame work to members of the Chamber.
She disclose this when she led a delegation of PortHarcourt Branch of Nigeria Barr Association on a courtesy visit to the President of PortHarcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture PHCCIMA Dr Chinyere Nwoga FIMC FIARSAC at her office in PortHarcourt on Wednesday.
Barr. Eke explained that the PortHarcourt Branch of Nigeria Barr Association is the fourth largest Branch in Nigeria and mother of all other branches in Rivers State, positing that it has produced two National President of Nigeria Barr Association and other positions of responsibilities.
She maintenaned that the job of lawyers are beyond the court room and renders several services, positing that her administration is advocating for (ADR) Alternative Dispute Resolutions to avail litigants the opportunities of savings cost and time.
Barr Eke further hinted that her administration is targeting on creating confidence in business community hence the partnership with the PHCCIMA on legal frame work for business activities to thrive in Rivers State.
In her response, the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture PHCCIMA, Dr Chinyere Nwoga FIMC, FIARSAC thanked the Chairman of Port Harcourt Branch of Nigeria Barr Association for finding time to visit her and her team.
While promising to collaborate with her August visitors, she noted that Lawyers are good business managers hence the need for them to register their various Law firm with Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce.
