The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze Sir Mike Elechi, JP, NPOM, FNIM, DSSRS has been honoured by a National spread non governmental organizations identified as The Advocates of Good Governance in Nigeria. The group was received in audience by the President in his office on Tuesday, 27th August, 2024. Presenting an address during the visit, the Leader of the Group Comrade Yakubu Mike, said that the visit was necessitated by the multi-sectorial achievements of the President whom he described as an unsung hero. He said that the president was selected for the honour after considering his myriad of inputs towards Youths welfare, human development and commitment to responsible leadership. He extolled the President for his uncommon flair for nation building and congratulated him for his outstanding contributions.
Responding to the address, the President, Eze Sir Mike Elechi JP, commended their initiative and interest in good governance. He called on the leadership of the group to be deliberate in encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship among Nigerian youths. He attributed the advancement of most industrialized nations of the world, to the adoption of the youths entrepreneurial model.
He condemned the over dependence on oil, as the major cause of our national mono economic trajectory.
The President called for a re-oriention of the national key players so as to reorder our national values and to strengthen our economic value chain.
The President said in all these, stronger engagements with the youths of the nation will bring about the much desired change.
On behalf of the group, the leader presented a plaque of honour to the PHCCIMA President.
Giving a vote of thanks, the Deputy Director General of the Chamber, Mr. Philip Obiandu, thanked the group for giving a well deserved honour to the President of the Chamber.
The President in turn, presented a souvenir to the visiting Advocates for Good Governance in Nigeria and wished them well in their Advocacy.
