The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM, JP, FNIM, DSSRS has inaugurated the 2024 Port Harcourt International Trade Fair Committee on Friday 7th June, 2024.
Performing the inauguration ceremony, the PHCCIMA President charged the Committee Chairman and members to bring in their wealth of experience, cooperate with other members of the committee in discharging their duties, other responsibilities included to organize a credible and successful Port Harcourt International Trade Fair, to motivate, harness the support of other members to organize sectorial conferences, lectures and exhibitions at various venues.
The PHCCIMA President further charged the committee to seek the collaborations/ partnership of individuals/ organizations subject to the approval of the President of the Chamber to ensuring a successful 2024 Trade Fair program.
Sir Elechi who also expressed the hope that the 2024 International Trade Fair will be successful considering the appointment of one of their own, the Second Deputy President, Hon. Chief Charles O. Beke as a member of Rivers State executive council and commissioner for local government affairs, saying that he could have some level of influence on the participation of local government council Chairmen during the fair. Just as he noted that his role during the trade fair will be on advisory basis when invited following the expiration of his three years mandatory tenure in November 2024.
Responding on behalf of the committee, the Vice Chairman of 2024 Port Harcourt International Trade Fair Committee and the Chamber Treasurer, Surveyor Emmanuel Ogbonda thanked the President for finding the committee members worthy to serve and promised that the committee will work to deliver on the mandate giving to them.
