The President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir, Mike Elechi, NPOM, DSSRS, FNIM, JP has called for memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the PHCCIMA and Indonesia Trade Promotion Center and Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia on bilateral relationship.
The PHCCIMA President made the statement when the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center and Representatives of the Republic of Indonesian Embassy paid him a courtesy visit at the Chamber’s Secretariat in PortHarcourt, the Rivers State Capital, on Tuesday.
The President of PHCCIMA emphasized that the MOU will institutionalize and go beyond the cordial relationship that exists between PHCCIMA which is the leader of Organized Private Sector in Rivers State and the Embassy of the Republic of
Indonesia, adding that it will be an added advantage to them in having smooth business operation in Rivers State.
The National Productivity award winner and the Managing Director of Vintage Farms and Products Ltd also used the medium to inform the Indonesia Envoy that Rivers State is save in doing business as against the negative publicity of Port Harcourt which drove some expatriates out of the city, positing that the new Rivers State government under the watch of Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS is committed in the development of Small, Medium, Scale Enterprises hence the need for effective collaboration so as the state government through the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce will harmonize a good working relationship including that of Port Harcourt International trade fair and various trade missions.
Earlier in his speech, the leader of the delegation and Director of Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre, (ITPC) Mr. Hendro Jonathan said they were at the Chamber Secretariat to inform the President and members of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce of their Business forum program in Port Harcourt which is aimed at strengthening business relationships between the Republic of Indonesia and Business operators in Port Harcourt.
He said that the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is timely just as he also proposed International Investment Forum, Nigerian Indonesia Business forum and International Handicraft Exhibition all to be held in Port Harcourt, just as he promised to bring in International exhibitors and Indonesia government to having business relationship with the organized private sector in Rivers state.
Meanwhile, the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) Eze, Sir Mike Elechi, NPOM DSSRS, FNIM JP also led the Indonesia Envoy and his team to 4 major shopping centres in Port Harcourt to showcase the save business environment of Rivers State.
